Residents noticed over the weekend that the ballot box that had been installed at in the jail parking lot was no longer there. Concerned this might have something to do with reports of United States Postal Service mailboxes being removed from Portland a citizen contacted County Commissioner Casey Kulla for answers.
Commissioner Kulla immediately contacted County Clerk Brian Van Bergen via email who responded that “A car hit our ballot box, so we removed it and are replacing it with a bigger, better one by early September.”
